Social media giant Twitter has announced that it will offer content creators options to tip with cryptocurrencies, allowing any user to pay with cryptocurrencies through the platform.

Twitter Product Manager Esther Crawford said in a blog post Thursday that the crypto tipping feature will be rolled out to all iOS users globally, and that the platform plans to roll out Android support in the coming weeks. saying. The cryptocurrency payment option will be available through third-party applications, including Cash App, Patreon, Venmo, Chipper, Bandcamp, Razorpay, GoFundMe, PicPay and Wealthsimple Cash, depending on the regions of the users. Users will be able to receive payments by linking links to their Twitter biographies and personal tweets.

“We want everyone on Twitter to have access to the option to get paid,” Crawford said. “Digital currencies help us achieve our goal by encouraging more people to participate in the economy, helping people send money to each other across the border with as little hassle as possible.”
